| In an International Procurement Bid,
Computer Point state of the art solution for a comprehensive
ICT platform for multi-service information sharing turn-key
project design emerged the ultimate choice for the GTZ
funded National Water & Sewerage Corporation Information
Communication System. The solution encompassed a turn-key
deployment involving networking all country wide 16-Area
Offices to their Head-office in Kampala. The solution
also invoked the first national deployment of a comprehensive
management platform using the world renowned HP Open View
that enables proactive reporting and management of NWSC
SLAs.

The solution also deployed a country-wide Voice over
IP enabled network to reduce overheads in terms of inter
office voice traffic. The solution provides support
of both Voice and Data in a multi-service converged
Voice and Data involvement with versatile routing and
Quality of Service algorithms on a Cisco AVVID architecture.
The solution is also one of the maiden Krone Highband
installations for structured connectivity. Our squadron
of qualified (certified) engineers deployed the solution
in all the country area offices in a record 30 day implementation
period.
Business automation at NWSC also invoked user application
deployment of the UNIX based Castimer Billing application,
SCALA Accounting System and Lotus Notes Messaging platform.
The solution is supported on a Frame Relay platform
provided by Uganda Telecom with a Cisco Routing platform
for inter-office connectivity. Internet access to the
entire WAN is supported securely through a Cisco PIX
Firewall in a tight NAT configuration.
